A telepítéskor meghagyott szabad területen, vagy másik eszközön állítsuk be a Ganeti/Xen működéséhez szükséges LVM-et
node1/node2:
Keressük meg melyik eszközt szeretnénk használni:
[geshifilter-code]node1:~# fdisk -l
Disk /dev/sda: 53.6 GB, 53687091200 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 6527 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 1216 9767488+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 1217 1338 979965 82 Linux swap / Solaris
node1:~#[/geshifilter-code]
Készítsünk rajta egy új partíciót: [geshifilter-code]/dev/sda3[/geshifilter-code] (mind a két node-on) és készítsük elő az lvm-nek:
[geshifilter-code]node1:~# fdisk /dev/sda
The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 6527.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)

node1:~#[/geshifilter-code]
Nézzük meg az eredményt:
[geshifilter-code]node1:~# fdisk -l

node1:~#[/geshifilter-code]
Minden rendben, de ahhoz hogy a kernel újraolvassa a partíciós táblát, indítsuk újra a node-okat:
[geshifilter-code]shutdown -r now[/geshifilter-code]
Az újraindulás után, készítsük elő a [geshifilter-code]/dev/sda3[/geshifilter-code] -at az lvm-re mind a két node-on, és hozzunk létre egy új volume group-ot, a [geshifilter-code]xenvg[/geshifilter-code] -t:
[geshifilter-code]pvcreate /dev/sda3
vgcreate xenvg /dev/sda3[/geshifilter-code]
A problémák elkerülése végett célszerű letiltani, hogy az LVM a DRBD eszközökön is keressen köteteket. Ehhez szerkesszük a [geshifilter-code]/etc/lvm/lvm.conf[/geshifilter-code] és cseréljük le a [geshifilter-code]filter[/geshifilter-code] sort a következőre:
[geshifilter-code][...]
filter = [ "r|/dev/cdrom|", "r|/dev/drbd[0-9]+|" ]
[...][/geshifilter-code]
